Artist Statement
As an artist, I specialize in painting, drawing, and collage. However, I create art in several different media and do not adhere strictly to one box or category. I work in eco-art and occasionally incorporate unconventional materials within my artwork, including objects from nature. I also enjoy working with textiles, photography, and ceramics.
Each piece of work is inspired by something different: a fleeting moment in time; an image within a dream; a bodily sensation which transcends conscious thought.
I graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with two Bachelor’s degrees in Art History and Italian Language. I also studied briefly at Pratt Institute, in Brooklyn, New York, Siena Italian Studies in Siena, Italy, and Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, North Carolina. I am a graduate of the Master's of Science Program in Art Therapy and Counseling at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA. My art therapy practice has greatly influenced my personal art-making.
